Before Myriad Mindset
9 Months into Myriad Mindset

yMy name is Ian, and I’m the founder of Myriad Mindset. My journey has taken me through so many different paths—construction, restaurant design, management, project leadership, and even coaching CrossFit. But through all of it, there was always something more I was searching for.
Last year, after completing an enormous project that consumed my time and energy, I found myself at my heaviest—both physically and mentally. I realized that what I knew about setting goals no longer served me. I had been a passionate advocate for goal-setting for over six years and accomplished some amazing things along the way. But deep down, I knew there was a missing piece. So, I set off on a mission to uncover the deeper truths behind goal-setting.
I dived into the wisdom of experts, starting from Locke and Latham’s pioneering research, and then pushing forward, one step at a time. This journey led me to create what is now the Myriad Mindset—a mindset built on the idea that we are all capable of more. The word “Myriad” means countless or great in number, but at its core, it represents limitless potential, and that’s what I want to share with the world—more out of life, more capacity, and more inspiration.
On December 17th, 2023, I decided to put the Myriad Mindset to the ultimate test. I crafted a dream—a vision of the person I wanted to become. I saw myself as an entrepreneur who would inspire 1 million people to achieve their goals, a man who would feel proud of the person in the mirror—not just physically, but mentally and spiritually. From that dream, I set three powerful goals:
Make $200,000 in 2024. It’s a bold number, and I’ve never come close before. But I had to think bigger than I believed possible to force the growth required to become that person.
Read 60 books in 2024. As of today, I’m on book 43, feeding my mind with knowledge to grow into my fullest potential.
Be proud of who I see in the mirror by December 17th, 2024. That’s not just about looks—it’s about becoming someone I respect, inside and out.
Once I had my dream and goals in place, I had to confront the huge, defining question: What does the version of myself I want to become actually do to be that person? What are his habits? What doesn’t he allow into his life? What are his non-negotiables?
Here’s what I discovered:
Dream Ian doesn’t drink.
Dream Ian works out 5 days a week.
Dream Ian has a consistent wellness routine.
Dream Ian journals daily.
Dream Ian runs a company that changes lives.
Dream Ian doesn’t stay up late, doesn’t party, and eats healthy.
With that clarity, I got to work.
I made a bold move—I stopped drinking alcohol right after finishing a project where I built a brewery. My bosses and coworkers thought I was crazy. I love beer… but I love who I am without it even more.
To support my vision, I struck a deal to trade labor for a used infrared sauna and bought a cheap cold plunge tub off Amazon. Then I found a workout program I knew I’d stick to (shoutout to Chalk Performance), and after organizing what I needed, I created a wellness routine that became the backbone of my transformation.
Here’s my daily routine:
5:00 AM: Wake up and journal while the sauna heats up
5:30 AM: Sauna time
6:00 AM: Quick shower
6:10 AM: Cold plunge
6:15 AM: Change and head tot he gym
6:30-7:30 AM: Workout
7:30 AM: The best part of my morning—coffee!
Only after making time for myself do I begin my day helping others, because you have to fill your own cup first.
I also set a bedtime of 9:30 PM and started plugging my phone in the kitchen overnight. This simple habit forces me to read instead of staying up late and mindlessly doom-scrolling until 1:00 AM.
This structure became the foundation of my growth.
